The nickel plating on the brass is harder than the die and will scratch it all to hell. The cases once loaded will work if the necks are not too thick. If they need to be turned you will be out of luck as the nickel will make short work of the cutter.

My experiance with Federal brass is that there is a reason they gave it away-a very poor brass for reloading-usually splits after 1 or 2 reloads.

I have had good luck with it. I have some .300 WBY with 5 loads on them now. I also have some in 40 S&W that has 5-8 reloads on it.

Regular brass is better, however; if your going to reload be carefull when full length resizing. This brass is hard and will scratch the inner walls of the die. Just go slow.

being lazyish maybe id just get the right stuff. i admire your tenacity to want to sit there for hours.

if the case you needed was obscure or rare it would make sense
maybe a good option would be to rechamber to a 257 cheapskate and just neck size it.
part of the problem of owning a dragster is the balancing act cost of keeping it running at top speed and performance with bare bones economically.
take care
