Default 222 rem for 300 yard coyote?

Will a 222 remington in a rem model 7 { scrony barrel} be potent enough for easily killing coyotes at 300 yards if hit properly? Or would it be better to opt for a different caliber such as a 22-250?
How much will the short, pencilled barrel affect accuracy.... for say gopher shooting at extended ranges?

I have a .222 and to me, it's good to about 250 yards. Longer than that I find it a little harder to connect because of wind drift and drop. I'm sure it would kill a coyote at that range, but I'd rather take my .22-250 for 300+ shots.

i've chronygraphed my 50 gr calhoon load at 3375, and regularily shoot gophers to 250 -300 yards. a good hot on a coyote at three hundred will put them down. lee.

I am sure if you put the bullet where it needs to go you will have no problems.
