Default Howa 1500

Posted this in the wrong category first. Anybody have any opinion or experience with these guns? I was looking at a 22-250 combo yesterday at BP and it seemed like a decent unit. Price is right too.

They are an excellent gun for the price. The Weatherby Vanguard is made by Howa on the Howa 1500 action.

Default Howa 1500

I seem to remember something like that. I had a vanguard years ago and it was a nice gun. Put a Timney trigger on it and that spruced it up.Seems to me S&W produced a rifle that was the same as well.

Actually Howa produced the S&W rifles for them,as well as the Mossberg 1500.

Thumbs up

My limited experience with Howa rifles has been nothing but positive. I have a 7-08 with a Hogue stock and it shoots great out of the box with factory ammo. I have seen a wide-variety of stock types on newer Howa rifles. Proline Shooters in Calgary (Inglewood) usually has a few in different cartride designations and stock types if you are looking to shop around a bit.
