Gotta get the gas prices up, sucks but for people employed in Nat Gas we need a deepfreeze for a bit across the board. 95% of the wells I work on are sweet gas, deep Hz.

I'm quite content with this change in the weather, we live in Canada, we're supposed to have winter! I was sick of listening to people whine about the weather by noon yesterday!

As someone who was born and raised in northern Alberta, I'd rather see winter as it should be over the rain and 100 mile an hour gusting ignorant winds we were subjected to. I know this is what our winters are about and if and when I can no longer tolerate it, I'll move else where.

I ordered the cold...When you have porable boilers for the oilpatch, you rely on some cold weather to get the trucks out working....I can do without the snow. Hopefully this cold gets the cyotes out more too

She is -30 right now with the wind chill of -42, up in the Peace any way. It looks like it will only last the week and then by the 24th back up to -5 or -6.

I heard the first Kiki bird of the year this morning. Like it's not really spring until you see a Killdeer right?
Seldom will you see a Kiki bird, but it's a very haunting call to announce Ol' Man Winter has arrived. I can't find an audio file to post, but I will type out the sound as best as I can. It starts at a very high pitch, and gradually lowers at the end with a bit of a "shudder". Like this-

Ki ki ki ki ki ryst it's cold!!

I have no issue with -40, but -25 with a windchill of -40 I hate. The cold can stay but the wind can *%!# off any time now and id be happy.
Makes it hard to snow blow to when the blower throws the snow one direction and the wind just carries it right back. Got my first snow blower this year, all I got to say is the man or woman who invented the snow blower gets my vote for greatest person of all time lol

Environment Canada is saying -35 with -48 wind chill for Cold Lake tonight. I guess we have to live up to our name.
still, I would rather have a -35 dry cold day to a 0 degrees foggy, drizzly day anytime.

I'm a good ol' Canadian farm boy. I can handle cold. But I have to admit that yesterday I broke down and put on a sweater.

Interesting how the wildlife cope with this cold. I just looked out at my bird feeder and there are 3 blue jays sitting there with feathers all puffed out. Makes them look as big as turkey vultures
