Default log home builders

Been looking at heading west, either Alberta or BC from Manitoba and was wondering if anyone has any leads or insight to working for a log home or post and beam house builder. I am a carpenter of 15 years and needing a change from my current position. I have emailed a few builders in BC but it seems they are not super busy right now, perhaps spring will be a better time to look.

Either way if anyone has a lead or knows someone who is looking i would really appreciate the tip.

thank you

Jason

Try contacting Mark Deagle in Hinton. He's been in the business for over thirty years and does amazing work.

Hey, closer to home for you on the west part of MB, there is a few new builds going up on both sides of Shoal Lake, and a 20+ lots sold and stuff to start in the future. Quite a few new builds and deveopments on Lake of the Praries also.

There is a fair bit of new home construction going on in Grande Prairie, I would think that someone who has good references could find steady work here. There are quite a number of builders in town, if you would like some names/numbers send me a PM. I have my own business doing drywall finishing, and currently have four different builders I finish for, maybe 60 houses a year, so I know a few people, but not everyone here by any means. It's a very word of mouth community, a couple introductions and if you do good work and are reliable word will get around pretty quick.
