Default Fishing and Camping at Cold Lake

I am planning on being in the Cold Lake area later this month and realize Trout are real deep but was looking for a campground and boat launch. I have a truck camper and don't really need power or hook ups. Please advise.

Best double check for any water quality advisories before you go. Friends of mine had campsite reservations for Cold lake this weekend and cancelled due to a fecal chloroform bacteria advisory that made the water useless where they were staying. Sorry but I don’t recall the campground they were staying at.

How is the launch in Frenchbay. Is there a launch fee like the provincial park?
We had to wait in line to launch and pick up for at least 20 minutes each time at the provincial park.

No launch fee's

When you launch put the boat trailer out to the left viewed from the shore, deeper hole there, sand bottom etc. This area is quieter than the provincial area.

How far is it from the MD campground to the marina?

Is it worth it to moore a boat at the marina? How much? Is there 24 hour security there?

I've got a fully self contained motorhome. So I'm not worried about any water advisory. I just don't want to pack up camp and to have to pull my boat out each and every day. I'd rather leave it at the marina and walk over if it is close enough.

The marina is full and every berth has at least 1 person on a wait list.

I believe you are still misreading his post. He isn't saying anything.

He was simply making a joke that if someone is lookin to give money away to send it to him. He was in no way shape or form talking about the marina, it was just a joke.

Perhaps one of these links will contain the answers you seek. If not I would suggest phoning them. Hope this helps.

Go to French bay and stay there......boat can stay on shore etc and you camp right there in plain view of your boat etc.

Thanks for the information. I went to Cold Lake for the first time in the spring and we enjoyed it. Good to know more about it.

Going to the PP tomorrow (Tuesday). Blue Crestliner with a Canadian flag. We usually fish not far from the point by the cabins.

Gonna be at the PP all week, went out yesterday ( white/pewter
21' SeaRay) lots of fish on the north end. Fished first time between island and mainland in 120ish' of water to get out of the weather and was hooking up within 5 minutes of lines down.....never fished that bit of water befor, but it's a great option when the waves are rolling as it's always pretty flat in that area. Used down rigger and jigged both with good success!
