Thanks for making this available on the forum. This is the kind of data and reports that Alberta should be producing and making available for both hunting and fishing species here.

Poor sample sizes and areas. It is not representative at all. There is nothing the BC gov does that Alberta should envy....

The fact that nearly 50% of calf deaths are from predation should ring some bells with the bc government and their bleeding hearts for griz

B.C. was burnt up in 2017 somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,200,000 Hectares,over 4500 square miles - I believe that is over 18,000 quarter sections! I am curious on how that would have had a significant short term effect on populations. Then long term projections as there would be great habitat coming on line in a few years, then overgrowth a few decades off. Short term pain, long term gain...

trainer dave, you are right in about 100 years the forest will be replaced. However what is the chance of the forest "Ever" being replaced when you now have over 1000 forest fires in one year. My prediction is centre of BC will be a grassland much like California that will burn every few years.
