It's been all over the news for several hours. Sadly, such acts have become common occurrence in the USofA.
In the end, it's nothing new now. Do we really need to chew on this one too?

After seeing some of the content the suspect posted how did people not see red flags?
Not even gona bring gun control into this topic, but maybe in the future see some sort of training for everyone to help recognize these behaviours especially amongst students and teachers.

So this makes it ho hum, like the Oilers losing again? The world is going to hell in a hand basket, and guns are a big part of the problem!

Happens here as well, may not be as frequent but it still happens.
A bunch of innocent kids/teachers get slaughtered but hey who cares right.

If people really cared, and thought proactively, they would arm the teachers. Case closed.

Same old same old!
The same old "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims"
In my opinion they need to do more than just pray. The USA needs to do something!
The NRA needs to do more than just protecting the rights of gun owners. The NRA should also be responsible for protecting people from gun crime.
It should be illegal for politicians or any political party to accept donations from the NRA.

You people are pathetic, at best.
The guy was a psycho. He could have done the same damage with any variety of methods.
And you blame the NRA? Talk about out of touch.

He could have used explosives, or a vehicle, or gasoline, the problem is the criminal, not what he chose to use as a weapon. It's too bad the scumbag was taken alive.

You talk like everyone loves guns. How many teachers do you think would be willing to carry??? Hell my best friend is RCMP and he has members on his shift that wouldn’t draw if they can help it and can’t shoot for crap. Pump your brakes...

And there the problem lies. Everyone can tell he was a psycho but yet nobody did a thing about it. He was expelled from school, proceeded to threaten students and staff, and his social media posts all point to one thing.

In a world were extremism has become the new norm in all corners of life this will become more and more common. Extremism isn't just muslim's, is can be right wing or left wing, anti-fa, LGBT, or needle-point vs crochet. This is going to get alot worse before it gets better. And having leaders who only seek to divide and push people to ends of the spectrum do not help whether it be trump or trudeu.

The sad fact is, that in most cases, there are warnings of one type or another before someone goes on a shooting spree. In some cases even the police are aware that the person is a threat, but no action is taken to deal with the threat.

Stop arguing about a tragedy. It's distasteful. Go post about the outdoors or watch tv or something else for goodness sake.

Exactly still some boneheads who blame the weapon, and not the person using it.

Unfortunately most of the time law enforcement's hands are tied. As a deputy sheriff I can't tell you how many times I would take and put someone in protective custody for comments they made to me/others about hurting themselves or others etc.. Policy was to take them straight to a hospital for mental health evaluation. That is where the break down occurred. Amazingly the story would change when they were evaluated by a mental health professional and they no longer wanted to hurt themselves or others. End result was the professional would clear them and since no crime had been committed they walked.
Back to the OP, sad indeed. Thoughts and prayers to those affected. I was in Florida yesterday and while I don't live in a constant state of fear, I prefer to be aware and cognizant of my surroundings whenever I go places so I kept my head on a swivel. Occupational hazard I suppose.

Another sad day, maybe they need to start evaluating the kids, and take the ones that are not dealing well with a crowded school and homeschool some of them. The signs were there, it shouldn't come as a shock... Not that anyone ever expects something like this to happen, but it does seem to be much too common, maybe the solution is as simple as getting them out of school and into a more comfortable setting BEFORE this happens.

Calgary's biggest mass-murder was committed by a mentally ill young man armed with a knife. Blaming guns is a cop-out.

Ya that has worked so well down there so far. Get even MORE people armed walking around.
Lets just make it mandatory for everyone carry a sidearm once they are old enough to hold it straight. Should solve all their problems.
I'm not by no means a gun control advocate, but good god when does it stop?? There is a reason it happens WAY more down there than here. Big part is the media continually sensationalizing these things all the time.

Had a bet with my Uncle from Montana this fall while elk hunting that US needs more gun control like restricting AR-15's. He claimed we had just as many shootings in Canada on per population basis. I looked it up on computer and US has mass shooting average of almost one per day. In Canada we had 4 in last 20 years. Some restrictions on military guns works, when will US open their eyes.

That is simply false. The media has their own criteria for mass shooting that they use to justify control.

Yes, I believe the media is partly to blame. But more gun control will not result in less gun problems.
