Why are we such a hand wringing generation
At what point do you say, what my forefathers did has nothing to do with me or who I am. Why can we not just move on with our lives. Sickening.

Special interest groups are slowly destroying what our forefathers built into this country.

For some, perpetual guilt is a way of life....my great-grandparents came to Canada in the 1880’s to avoid persecution and likely death. They braved attacks from tartars, starvation and a dangerous crossing of the Atlantic to get here, then more struggles moving west.
No shame or guilt here. Just pride.

X100- This has to be said for many situations these days.
I think we all have a responsibility to remember history.
I am sick of paying retributions for something I had no part of an neither did the three generations before me.
I hate that the only time people want to talk about history and wrong doings is when they are looking for financial gain.
I think there should be a statute of limitations on how many generations can attempt to ride on the coattails of their forefathers.
My only gain or benefit has been the ones I earned myself. I am only liable for my own actions. Why should I be paying for the actions of others for the rest of my life?

We should always strive to learn from history, but dwelling on it is another thing entirely. People dwelling on the past is the reason behind almost all global conflict, it works the same regionally. When people go overboard with things such as restitution, reparations, tilted hiring policies, favouritism in educational pursuits, etc the result is that another group becomes disenfranchised. Why is it that so many people campaign for inequality as way to try to atone for previous inequality? Two wrongs never make a right, they simply serve to perpetuate the cycle of inequality.
I’m sure there were points in all of our family histories where an ancestor was wronged, if I were to discover that someone took advantage of any of my great great great great grandfathers I wouldn’t be pursuing the descendants of those people for ‘reparations’ (aka: political theft, the sole intent of which is to buy votes)
Maybe I’m entitled to a lordship somewhere in Scotland or Prussia ? I should be entitled to my entitlements!

It's really sad isn't it!! What our fathers and grandfathers worked for is now being brushed under the carpet by the halfwit run government!! You don't hear me squealing I'm entitled to the moon and yet now I feel like a minority in my country!! If you can tell, I blame this totally on the government!! Stop the bloody handouts all ready and who knows, it just might help balancethe budget

I had no idea the Catholic Church was involved in the Slave Trade !

We see it in animals as much as humans where one animal that is being fed is envious of one who isn't and will challenge and try to take away what the other has..
Envy and jealousy are natural characteristics that are easily manipulated, always have been, everybody has some level of it in their personality whether they admit it or not. |It is just not apparent or admitted to by in those who are envied as they have little to be envious about, reverse their situation and watch what happens.

Not surprised at what they are involved in. Maybe I have not looked close enough but I have seen nothing that resembles the character of the central figure of their faith.
