Be nice to get Gio back, and hope Backland isn't out to long. Definitely missed them tonight.
So with that being our third game in 4 nights we did ok. Will take the two day break before we take on the Flyers.

Every team has those moments. Was a bit disappointed but not surprised. At least it wasn't some awful blow out, thought they held their ground ok considering the recent schedule, suspensions and injuries. Glad they beat Preds last night in a game that was maybe more important. A rest will do them good.

I was at the game, first one I'd been to in years, a few things came to mind:

-The puck seemed to be bouncing alot. I don't know how many times it bounced over the stick on a pass, players fanned on the puck, even McDavid just skating up the ice and hops over his stick;

-I really don't understand why the players get paid millions of dollars;

-People pay face value of the those tickets on a regular basis?;

-Our seats were $154/each, the two people beside us missed the first, and she was texting on the entire game. That's an expensive texting atmosphere;

-Johnny has pretty sweet hands, good vision, but isn't really that quick;

-McDavid needs a haircut;

-The best players on the ice, by far, were Rittich and Koskinen;

-Refs weren't great;

-Flames first line was very noticeable and took the game over on alot of their shifts;

-It was cool to see McDavid score; and,

-The Oiler's PP is terrible.

Really Bessie? 1-0? Dominate is coming back from 4-1 deficit and winning 9-6. Last night was actually a snoozer, was not what I was hoping for any which way.

My only possible explanations are you have the Canucks and Oilers confused or think it's Saturday morning.

I thought the game was pretty boring considering that it was the rejuvenated BOA and both teams are playing well right now.

BOA in Edmonton traditionally isn't as good as it is in Calgary. No idea why. Perhaps it's the water or the fans here?

3 games in 4 nights, this one on a back to back this game starting 20hrs after the last one. Number one d man out, number one defensive center out along with 2 other regulars out. Against a fully rested, healthy oilers team at home, and this is all they could muster up under those circumstances? Playing a boring dead puck era trap praying mcsavior will score, even when playing a banged up flames team, any decent opponent should've smoked us last night with how terrible the flames played. Hope the oilers are practising there golf swing.

*shhhhhh*....If you start bringing facts like that into it, the Oilers fans just gonna react about how they 'dominated' and you are just making 'excuses' and blah blah blah....it just encourages them. Let them have their two points and the magical 'game in hand'.......best to just let them have their Mighty version of it and not stir them up. Because then, they're gonna show up here and aggravate me mightily (see what I did there) and I'm going to have to put a couple more of them on my *Ignore* list.

I must say, the Ignore function works wonderfully though. Then I don't have to resort to 'Good For You' when my patience gets tasked beyond endurance......

It was a good win, not going to take away from it. Flames didn't put on much of a show, but were in the game till the end I figured. Hard to gripe about a 1-0 game. I didn't even cry about the Peluso goal being disallowed for goalie interference, because it was the correct call.

I don't always agree with these rankings, but this is nice to see:

"The Calgary Flames, as you recall, missed the playoffs last season. Well, it's a different story in 2018-19 as the Flames have been lighting up the league in the last three weeks, going 9-2-1 in their last 12 games to climb into first place in the Western Conference.

Despite missing key parts of their puzzle during the first 31 games of the season – Mark Giordano sat for a two-game suspension and defensive centre Mikael Backlund is out with a concussion, for example – the Flames continue to rack up points, relying on a veteran roster as well as AHL call-ups such as rookie blueliner Oliver Kylington to get the job done. Kylington, a 21-year-old Swede drafted 60th overall by Calgary in 2015, scored his first NHL goal and added an assist in the Flames’ 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday.

Last Tuesday, the Flames rallied to outscore the Columbus Blue Jackets 9-6, with team leading scorer Johnny Gaudreau registering four points. Veteran goaltender Mike Smith has also returned to form lately, winning six straight games after going through a slump when he recorded six losses in eight games.

As such, Calgary moves up five spots to No. 3 in our weekly 7-Eleven Power Rankings, according to consensus rankings formulated by the TSN Power Ranking panel of Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Jamie McLennan, Craig Button and Darren Dreger."

Only Tampa and the Leafs ahead of us.

A win is a win. The Oiler game is boring but effective. I will state it right now. they will make the playoffs and with some luck, we may see a BOA 7 game series.

They will not win said series but it will be fun to watch.

Hmmm I cant see McDavid getting in the playoffs. He will get tired. Carrying this team isnt easy.

So the oilers are a one man team eh? How’s it feel for your team to be beat by a single player? Thank god Edmonton doesn’t have 2 players....
