I phoned wholesale and P&D. Both told me not to expect anything before late summer early fall. Was really hoping to try one of these out on gophers this summer.

Kind of thought that but was hoping for sooner. Anyway the 17HMR is doing just fine for me.

I have patience for it. Was hoping they were making it with a stainless model.

I talked to the Winchester Rep who was at the boat show and he said a lot of the ammo was made, but they were not shipping yet, until the guns are available.

He said the paperwork for SAAMI (The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) never went in until late February, his best guess was we probably won't see any up here until June.....maybe.

SAAMI has created the standards for safety and reliability in the design, manufacture, transportation, storage and use of firearms, ammunition and components.

Cooper builds all the other rim fires, hopefully they are working on a 17 Super Mag in their Model 57-M.
