ahhh what size of ipsc target do i want though????...help. full or 66% ??? whats more realistic for training if the zombies start coming...?

im leaning towards the 66% version...1/2 thick for my 308 and 338 at 1000 and further
Is the ISPC the mini torso shape or the plates?

Im in Red Deer too and would LOVE to place a order and pitch in for shipping/transport.

They are in two sizes full or 66% and look exactly like the one in post 138 of this thread.

hey send him an email there 1000 yards ,hes more receptive to that and hes also kinda busy. i just confirmed what i wanted since last night and am sending a check . his email address is somewhere on here.

if you get some i can probably get them for ya. i dont really have a day job......but crap i have an interview this afternoon, dam it.

jordan explained the full size is like a big man

and the 66% is a small person...... like me, average size,measured myself,im 170 pounds,5"10, roughly 12x19" torso,lol

Final order for GB round 2 has been placed. I'll post here when the targets are ready for pickup.

Got a new rifle, and the sun is starting to come out more and more, I can't wait!
Already have a ad on kijiji looking for a local welder who wants to make a small rebar contraption to hold up my target lol

I am also working on a template so I can just spray on a new target the night before I go out. I want to practice all 3 shooting positions, and make sure I am feeling confident. This summer is going to be key to make sure I have the confidence in myself and my shooting abilities as well as my rifle, to make a clean, ethical shot, If i should be so lucky on my first year hunting!

I may be able to weld up some brackets for you, similar to the ones I use. They work with rebar.

Guys,

The targets should be ready for pickup tomorrow evening. Please make arrangements to pickup ASAP, as I cannot be storing plates for several weeks like I did last time. Thank you.

Lefty Canuck can deliver a limited number of targets to Edmonton again, so if you contacted either myself or him about this, please confirm that you are on his list. Do so in this thread or by contacting him or I individually by email. He will be making the pickup tomorrow evening, so let us know ASAP.

Some general tips and recommendations based on questions from several guys:

This version of AR500 steel is called Hardox 500, and is made in Sweden with the highest of standards. It is hard, high-quality steel, but it is not immune to damage. In order to keep damage to your AR500 targets to a minimum please remember the following:

- Avoid the use of steel-core ammo. The steel core does not disintigrate like lead cores do, and can damage the plate

- Try and keep impact velocity down to around 3000fps or under. While this plate is some hard and tough stuff, it can be damaged and even perforated if you hit it with a fast-moving bullet that carries some momentum. A good rule of thumb is 200 yards and farther. The steel can take hits from much closer, but you always run the risk of damaging it, and the closer you go, the more likely it is that the steel could get damaged. Speed kills.

- If using fast, powerful ammo and you want to shoot closer than 200 yards (ex. .300 Win Mag shooting a 150gr bullet impacting at 3150fps), then 1/2" targets are recommended

If used properly and treated with some caution, these AR500 plates will take hundreds if not thousands of rounds, and will provide years of enjoyment.

Judging by how things are going here, I'll probably put on one of these group buys every now and then.

I'm also getting a lot of requests to build stands for people, so that may be something that I'll start doing in my spare time.

I will be defenetly keeping my eyes open for when you do this again, it would be really nice to have one of these targets with a stand, ive seen them before but had no idea where to get them, and don't have the tools to build one, but I sure do have the money to buy one! Lol
