We just bought adjustable beds from Costco on-line, and are really pleased with them. Long after your hips heal, you'll still enjoy them for reading in bed, different sleep positions, - even built in leg massages. They're delivered by Costco's 'white glove' service in major centres- includes set-up in your home.

We bought the 'kingbed-size' (which is actually 2 twins side-be-side) - to assist in my wife's recovery from surgery, hip problems and long-term sleep apnea, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoy the different features too.

I know you're looking to rent - but this might be a long-term solution.
Best of luck in a speedy recovery.

what is the consensus on the soft or hard mattress ? when you get new hips

I just bought a brick on sale sofa bed futon
https://www.thebrick.com/products/av...c-futon-grey-1

600 bucks and you can sleep on it by removing the cushions

easy to get in and out of and also short legs work on this one with the cushions pushing your body forward,

a lot less money then you can decide what is in your long term future

just trying to be helpful
