Default Switching to compound.. suggestions?

Looking to purchase a compound bow in order to extend Hunting season. What is the best bow under $800 for hunting?

Is $800 your total budget for bow, accessories, arrows, release, target and range finder? Or is $800 allotted for just the bare bow?

Bear Arena 30. Very nice and fast for reasonable price.

I think that you should save your money a little while longer and buy a bow later this year, or early next year. That way you have lots of time to practice, become accurate, and learn your limits before next years archery season. I may have misunderstood your post, but to me, it sounds like you plan on buying a bow and heading out hunting right away. Without any prior experience with a bow.

Go to a pro shop and shoot as many bows as you can in your price range. Pick what feels the best to you.

Default ...a used bow

lots of guys "speed lease" a bow for a year or two till their itch to get a faster bow needs to be scratched.

So many impressive bows on the market these days. Go to numerous shops and find the one that calls your name. I shoot a Bear Empire, it’s the one that called mine and it’s never let me down.
