Default Badlands Outerwear

Hello,

Anyone out there with Badlands outerwear experience?
I was really thinking about ordering some first lite but I came across the badlands stuff at cabelas.
It sure is nice to be able to try stuff on rather than ordering it, hoping for the best and potentially shipping back and forth.
Also, badlands has a lifetime warranty.

Thoughts?

Default Badlands

It’s garbage, poor build quality, noisy materials and their zippers are notorious for failing. You can’t even compare them to FL build quality.

That’s too bad. I’m so reluctant to order first lite without seeing it first hand.

I was too with my first lite but finally just ordered my first piece and never looked back! I have a full top to bottom system and I have zero complaints so far used it for a couple seasons now!.

Bass Pro was carrying some FL and Jim Bows did as well but they hardly carry any selection. If I recall they were going exclusive with online sales now.

What are you running for first lite?

I was thinking about the North Branch Pants and the Woodbury jacket.
Both in fusion.

I just bought a few things during their clearance sale. I already had the brimmed beanie. I purchased an uncompahgre puffy jacket, and a pair of the grizzly gloves. Both in asat camo. First lite is definitely worth it. Their attention to detail is second to none. Every garment is designed specifically for its application. I was looking at the Woodbury jacket as well. I think it may be purchased in the future. Unfortunately First Lite has gone to direct sales from their website, which means there will be no more chances to try things on at retailers. However, it has lowered there prices a bit.

Make sure to read the reviews, look at their sizing guide and measure yourself before buying. Read the reviews because some of the garments fit big, and others are more true to size, and the reviews will help to figure it out. I measured myself, looked at the sizing guide and bought the 2xl jacket, but totally could have fit into an xl! Let us know how you like your new gear, if you decide to buy first lite!!

Love my FL pants, not sure which model they are but bought at Jimbos cpl years ago, built in suspenders,Fusion camo etc.I wear them all fall from early September the pants alone, then wear them with UA 2.0 til Nov when it gets really cold then I break out the wool pants, but milder days in Nov, say down to -12C to -15c I'll just as often wear the FL and UA base layer for stillhunt/stalking unless I plan for a long sit.

As for Badlands, the only product I have is their bino harness, fully enclosed/magnetic closure, quiet outer material, great fit and adjustability, etc.,its an excellent piece of gear and 1/2 price of KUIU and other similar chest harnesses/bino pouches,I highly recommend it.
