That one was the one who slowly swam by, then bolted along the bottom, stirring up silt bigtime.
This is the lazy striker.
I had one Pike sit just under the surface at one of my holes. I could have grabbed him, but it took me a second to register it. He did strike my lure when I brought it up to his level, but he got off soon after.
I’ve seen how the water in a hole warms a column that goes down 10-15 feet. I’m sure he was enjoying the warm up. I’ve noticed a few Pike just under the ice this year. More so than I have in the past.
