Default Lower K

Going to Lower K next weekend,
which campground do you guys recommend?
Anyone been there lately?
how's the fishing?
any fishing tips from the shore?

Any other fishing spot to hit along the way there and back?

Interlakes is the only campsite with sites rite on the water and it is always packed. to get a good spot you often have to pull in as someone is pulling out. I think check out time is at 2pm. The earlyer you get there the better. Sunday and Monday are the highest turnaround days. All the good lakeside spots are occupied by early afternoon 7 days a week.

Good luck.

Inter lake campground is great if you can get a spot some not even 10ft away from the water . Lower lake campsites, there is a stream that flows through. Very peaceful and chills beverages quite nicely.

Camped there three times this year so far.
Grizzlies are out, have come across 5 during the 3 trips.
officer said a female bear who hasn't had any cubs for 10 years had 2 beginning this year. unfortunately they were found on the side of the road either hit by a vehicle or another bear got them.

keep your guard up. I would assume she is angry.

As for fishing spinning lures in pink or orange have been working well.
if you fly fish colors are green and brown. don't just stay in one spot. Work you way along the shore.

there omnivores but more inportantly they eat berrys over a child. be bear smart and dont walk over though and give it space.
watch out for the spring and fall feed. now you should be fine.

I caught this one this morning at Lower K with fly-gear and a big streamer. Fishing was slow though... only the one fish to the net.
