Default Cross Lake

Well we spent a week up there had a great time. The lake is higher than I have ever seen it. The beach where the kids swim is part of the lake. Rocks that we usually step on to get into the boat are a foot under water. The fishing was good the first couple days with the jacks biting fast and hard. The wife and I never got any keepers but my hunting/fishing partner and his son got three keepers the whole week. Biggest was 76 cm. Not bad for this lake. The perch were hitting good tuesday and between 6 of us we managed to get 20 keepers all in the 10 to 14 inch range. My wife actually got her first perch. But then around noon on Wed everything quit biting. After that we started seeing smaller perch floating belly up. I assume the blue green algea is taking its toll on the perch again this summer, although it wasn't as bad as in previous years. Thursday night it started raining and never quit so saturday we packed up and came home a day early. I emptied the boat twice, of rain water, on friday.
