Default Chestermere lake

Ok before you ask me to search i have and i have an idea of where to go and what to use

I took my daughter to Burnt stick this weekend and we caught a bunch of perch and i got some pike. But now she wants a bigger rod and to try and catch pike so i want to take her somewhere that isnt over an hour away. Has anyone shore fished Chestermere in the last little while that can give me a quick tip on where and what they are biting even small ones would be fine. I wont go often i just want to get her some fish this year. If you dont want people to know your secrets feel free to PM me.

try a silver buzz bomb or yellow and red 5 of diamonds.... around the 17th ave bridge is usually a good spot but dont fish the sw side as it gets weedy too quickly...

When you get into town, take West Chestermere Dr. all the way down to the inlet canal. With all the rain thats been comin down, the canals a little dirty, but theres still gonna be a couple hammer handles kickin' around. Spinnerbaits, red/whites, 5 o' diamonds, and my personal favorite, Rapala CD9 in the blue and silver. Lots of snags etc. though.

Yes the inlet canal. The water was getting a bit clearer. Jig heads with tails, wild eye pike,red/white spoons, pickerel rig with a couple smelt. My granddaughter caught two 23 " pike there last week. It was the first fish she ever caught. She was using the smelt rig.

Default Chestermere Lake

You could always try the Glenmore Resevoir as well or the canals coming from the Elbow river into the resevoir. I would just use the usual spoons or a perch pattern wally diver. I have only fisher the resevoir from boat so from shore I wouldn't know where to go.

inlet or the outlet are really about the only 2 good places this time of year from shore, too many weeds everywhere else.

I made you a Google Map of where I fish.

Lots of garbage there though. I have been filling a bag and hauling it out each time I go.

Silver Rapala F09 works great there. Caught 20+ inch pike on the Rapala F11.

I see lots of people using jigs but I am partial to the plugs as I have good luck with them.

I also get nice bites on Len Thompson Red/Yellow 5 of diamonds, Red/White classic, Orange/white spoons but the Rapala F11 has been the most productive for me.

Dont bother going the day after a heavy rain. The foam gets bad and the water gets murky.
