Was out at RR23 on Sylvan. With the exception of 3 vehicles (I'm one of the 3), everyone drove onto the lake. Ice where I fished was a good 13". Snow was a little bit more than a couple of inches. It was a shanty town there, same on the marina. Lots of people.

Default haig lake ice

went to haig dec 26 ice on average 16 to 18 inches thick but there was a spot about 20feet in diameter that was only 4 inches always check by drilling test holes infront of your truck when satisfied where you want to be then go left and right of your truck drilling holes ecspecially on that lake

Default minewanka

Was in banff for new years eve. We went for a drive up to minewanka. I was quite surprised to see it was almost completely open water. Spray is supposed to have 18''. Ghost has at least 10". I suppose minewanka is very deep and there could be hot springs entering it though. Two jacks was completely open as well. I have never fished these spots but am quite curious.

Lower Kananskis had 30 centimeters a few days ago at Panorama (keeping at least 100 meters from the open water).

Default Lac st. Anne- jan.2

Was there today, ice was about 14inches thick on the Yellowstone development side. Saw lots of fish, but nothing was biting. Was using a yellow jig with yellow gulp bait. Ally works in the summer! Also tried a spoon and a rattler.

Went to Stoney Lake near Elk Point, AB on Saturday and the ice is 16" near the stampede shore. Didn't go in any further. Caught 8 perch, 2 went back in the bath.

Lake Sundance in Calgary, 11 inches...surface snow melting fast. Hard to say what is happening with the purported thin spots.

Gull lake was 11-12 inches around the Wilson's beach area. Surprised to see people with their trucks parked so close together on the ice. We caught three walleye, a couple perch, and a couple burbot. One of the walleye was very nice, around 6 pounds, which was great to see.

drove by Scope tonight, fished it last week, today there are huge open areas along the dam, and lots of big gas bubbles rolling in, very weird to see a lake burping!!! Be safe this weekend people, there will be a lot of unsafe ice in southern Alberta

Nice footer pix, BGSH.
Was out on Sylvan, drilled 4 locations 250 yds out to 17 FOW. Ice was consistent at ~12". Still a lot of people driving big trucks out onto the ice; ice flexes and crackles every time a vehicle passes close by.
