Here again, Metis and First Nations abusing their subsistence " Harvest Rights " this time fishing, a couple weeks ago it was hunting, time to bring the hammer down, loss of rights, suspension of the CARD and maximum fines and or jail time. They do it because like theft there is no ramifications if caught.

Good on them to catch them, unfortunately there will be little to no consequences for the guilty.

And they killed 2 eagles? Just for feathers I am guessing??

Time to revamp some laws and rights.

Their definition of stewarding is just different from Webster's.

Such a big sting and not one of the 33 people named?

This is my prediction.

The people down the line who bought the fish(just as bad as the ones netting and selling) will get hammered and the "native" poachers will get off with a slap, their nets and truck given back.

I saw it being done at Calling about 4 years ago, made me extremely sad (and mad) at the sheer numbers he was pulling in, and I can only keep one

Hope they nail these idiots HARD but I'm guessing the buyer will pay a heavy price, and the perps will get little to no punishment, as usual

Default Fish trafficing

Have seen this several times, but there would be no
sellers if there was no buyers. Who is buying

Pretty sad but as already mentioned they will probably get a slap on the wrist, especially if the ‘it’s my right” card is used. I suspect there will be more of these groups getting caught with the new wave of unregulated Métis “subsistence” hunters being given harvesting rights this past September......

Yeah, gonna have a busy season at the Healing Lodge, taxpayer funded. Smudging ceremony, and a session to vent grievances about residential schools that none of them Ever came within 100 miles of. More victimization and racism accusations, rinse and repeat. The only shocking part of this is that CBC ran the story without overtly blaming colonialism as the cause.

I’d like to know the name of the individual(s) from Morinville that were involved.

I hope that the punishment is severe and sends the right Message.

Where’s this killing eagles coming from?

Yup, feel free to report me to the mods. Try sns2 to start, he will be sympathetic to you I'm sure. Because God forbid anybody should say anything negative about the Stewards of the Land getting caught red handed breaking the law and abusing their status 'right's for personal gain. That would of course be overtly racist, right?

Yes, we are all just racist white garbage for making accurate observations about the double standards and constant playing of the victim/racist card.

You are part of the problem.

I fail to see where it mentions anything about First Nations or Métis hartvestors killed these. Unless by “they” you meant poachers but feels unlikely

If people are too racist to realize the comments made are not about race, but about racist laws and the unregulated rape of our resources, then obviously they have a reason to have a complex about the views posted on this forum.

Just agreeing with your comment to report posts that cross lines, not disagreeing with you. For instance, calling forum members racist white garbage could be construed as crossing lines, right?

Bingo! Or, winner winner chicken dinner....exactly right. Calling a spade a shovel isn't racist.

Look in the mirror if you want to see the definition of racist when you make generalizing remarks like that.
Not all natives rape the land and abuse their rights, but the bunch that got caught sure did and you should be calling form their heads, not calling this site racist

With that logic, drug dealers shouldn't be blamed for selling drugs. The users should?

You missed the logic completely. What he’s saying is that people buying illegal goods are equally as guilty as those providing them. No buyers equals no market for people to buy it whether it be fish, drugs, stolen goods or anything else. In other words, people buying are as guilty as those selling.
