Métis Settlements would be the right terminology as opposed to reservations. There are two in the area of the two lakes where the fishing occurred. I’m not saying that they were from either settlement, but if they were the Council should be addressing the issue as it reflects on the entire community.

I hope they nail their asses to a post!
Too bad a few twits tarnish all the rest of the decent folks, some of whom I've met while hunting.
All the best,

I’m gonna ask one last question, what does “guise” mean? Where these people even MN/FN or just saying they were?

concealing the true nature of something.

Ie. They were catching fish under the guise of using them for personal consumption when they were actually selling them.

Either that or those guise were selling fish illegally.

To legally put a fishing net into a lake they would need to dis-guise themselves as MN/FN members. Whiteman no longer legal to fish with nets anymore in Alberta.

Ask the Metis Nation of Alberta.

They are going to intervene in this case to asset their claim that Metis people have the right to commercially harvest and sell fish and game....

It might be a good thing, that this is going to court.

Going to court is only a good thing if you have the right judge.
