Default Looking for advice on bow sight repair.

The little level on my Cobra sight has fallen out somewhere due to vibration, I guess. I don't know how easy it will be to find a replacement or if it's even possible and I don't much feel like parting with the price of a new sight for the sake of a part that is only worth pennies.

I'm wondering how much you guys actually use the level and how important you think it is in terms of increased accuracy.

I use my bow only for hunting and informal target practice. Don't think I'll ever get into competitive shooting but I do strive to get the tightest groups I can in practice.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jeromeo. Don't think I'll lose too much sleep over the lost level.

I use my level when I shoot all the time. I ensure I am holding my bow properly and try to maintain good form.

When hunting, I rarely look at my level, though by looking at it year round I find it helps me shoot better when I 'dont' look at it.....

But hey....what works for one may not work for another. YMMV

I dont use mine at all. If I was shooting at my level, I would look at my level. I prefer to think of it as a mini hydraulic dampner that they didn't fill up all the way.

Rackmastr Nailed it.

These bubble levels are indicators of good form during practice to help produce muscle memory and ensure that when the real time comes there is no thinking involved everything just happens.

At first I used mine to ensure good practice and during later practice sessions I will draw and get to anchor then sometimes look to ensure I am holding level.

Are they really?

Good form means the least amount of stress possible. For some people to shoot level, they need to shoot with a canted bow. Can't remember the fellow's name off hand but his handle on archerytalk is oldpro and his sight was leveled to his cant not the bow. Now, before anyone responds; I challenge you to actually take the time to do this. It's nowhere as easy as it sounds. Especially when you have to adjust the sight for 3 axises NOT 2 like a fence post.

BTW, I shoot with my level; done enough it's habit forming and becomes somewhat sub-conscious in execution.
