Tikka T3 Lite price drop
S.I.R and Wholesale both have new pricing, for those thinking of buying one ( such as myself). I'm taking my firearm safety course next week and buying my rifle soon after so the timing is great. The stainless LH are down to $699 from $850, RH are now $659.

Still doesn't beat the price of the Savage at the south Canadian Tire in Red Deer. I'm thrilled silly that I got a stainless synthetic 270WSM with a removable mag and the Accutrigger for $530 After I kicked in my stash of Canuck Tire Bucks, I only shelled out $325. Whooooooooo Yaaaaa!

The Hunting Manager is James and the number there is 403-342-2222. I have his card in my truck, but that was the number from Google.
They have a lot more huntung stuff than any other Canadian Tire stores too.

Well, tried to support the little guy and buy my rifle from P&D, but they won't budge on the price. Why anyone would pay an extra $150 to shop there is beyond me.

i called there yesterday looking for a specific firearm, they said the tikkas and remis went down almost $100 in the last 24 hours, this was yesterday though. Not all remis, i was asking about higher end remis and the one i was after is still sitting at $1039 , lol

Price beat out service
Just goes to show you that service is not everything. I myself foound myself in WSS when the price dropped. Picked what i hope to the last gun I need
.270WSM Tikka T3 Lite
Dropped from $850.00 to 699.00
Then with the savings i put a Leupold VXII that had also dropped in price by 60.00

At then end of the day price is almost always king, if you can combine price and service even better. I work in the golf industry and there is not a customer in the world that will pay an extra $150 from a mom and pop shop when they can walk into golf town and get the same product cheaper. To touch upon what they lost with me in specific, the purchase of my first rife, the purchase of my first scope, the 30-06 I was going to buy my grandfather and possible ammo. So that $699 quickly turned into a $2000 sale that will go to SIR

I always support the little guy because after sale service is worth a lot of money. I buy from the gun shop out here and sure I may spend a bit more on my rifles (last one was $75 more than a shop in the city) but I know I can walk in there and if I have a problem it will be looked after ASAP.

Well I'm all for supporting the little guy as well, as I mentioned in my post I offered them my business before anyone else purely based on their reputation here. The bottom line is if all retailers buy a "Tikka" for X amount of dollars, how does P&D justify charging 25% more than their competitors especially considering they don't have anywhere near the operating costs that a larger store would incur. Paying more for perceived better service "should" something go wrong is foolish. It's like paying for an extended warranty or a scotch guard for that new shiny sofa. 100% margin for the retailer, why do you think they push them so hard.

I don't think that 25% is worth the after service just incase something goes wrong, they are all shipped to the same service depot for repair.

Difference is though, if my gun had to be sent away to get worked on, I am almost certain the guy would offer me one to use in the meantime and that is what it is all about. Plus to spend $50 on gas to run around to save $50 is not all that sensical to me. To each their own I guess.

I dont mind buying from the little guy either but price and selection is a big point with me. As much as everyone says they dislike WSS, I can walk in there, ask for a few different guns I'm interested in and compare them side-by-side. They have the selection and from what I've seen, usually the best price.
Only once have I went in there to look at a firearm (Ruger #1 SS in 45-70) and have it not in stock.
I went to the Canadian Tire on Southland in Calgary last week to look at the newest firearm I'm interested in purchasing. I figured I'd check it out, if the price is the same, why not purchase from there. Thats a fair ammount of Can Tire money you're going to get back on a $1,000 purchase. Can always use it for other stuff in the future like targets, ear plugs, ammo, etc.
Im interested in a Weatherby Vanguard Sub-MOA 22-250 in stainless. They didnt have what I was looking for, and after repeated attempts to ask if they could bring it in for me, or to at least get a price, I just gave up.
Next day, went to WSS, within 2 minutes, I had one in my had.
