Default Light Loads, 44Mag

Looking to do some light 44mag loads,
200gr cast, out of a marlin Ballard rifled rifle. Is universal a good accurate powder?

Hodgdon publishes Trailboss loads for this bullet. Universal will work fine but maybe a bit high velocity for reduced loads and cast.

Trailboss is great choice for cast loads.I have used it or 357mag and 454 Casull, and it worked very well for both.

I started with unique until I ran out of that and am using 700x now. Good for short range, but it drops quick after 25 yds.
