Default A sad day

Had to give my 2 1/2 yr old chocolate lab away. The bi-product of a separation, it sucks but it had to happen for the sake of the dog.

Have fun Rolly in your new family.

Sorry to hear that Elk, sounds like you going through a trying time and losing a loyal friend doesn't help. Hopefully he went to a good home.

I have seen this before. Get visiting rights to the dog. A buddy of mine was in the same situation.

That golden lab was so happy when she was able to visit her big bear hating lab friends on Babine Lake. They knew each other from previous visits.

Then the lab had to go back home to the women who is a nurse and boxes the dog for 10 hours a day. Maybe 18 when she is double shifting.

I gave away a 3yr old dog today, I know where your coming from. Sad day indeed, wife crying, kids crying, other dog sitting in the front window waiting for his buddy to come home. Gotta do what you gotta do, even when it sucks...

Although sad I'm glad a better alternative came about for yourself!

That's rough to give away your most loyal friend. Hope you can still see the dog. Take care.

The dog stayed with me when the separation came.
She got pretty sick and ended up being put down 9 months later.

Good luck with your separation/ divorce.
Think what it would be like with children involved. That complicates things more than dog does.
