Default would a 22-250 be a decent gun for 200 yard target shooting?

I'm wanting to get into target shooting at distances and I'm curious if a 22-250 would be an ok gun for practicing at 200 yards +?

and that your allowed to carry that caliber gun for 10 months of the year is convenient

anyway.. I appreciate any opinions. . sorry if this particular question has been beaten to death

thank you in advance

Nothing wrong with a 22-250 for target practice but it is an expensive rd unless you hand load.

The 22-250 isn't a great choice for target shooting. If you are set on using a .224" bullet, you would be much better off with a 223rem, as the barrel does not heat up as fast, and the barrel life is much longer.

You'd get a better response in the gun section

A 22-250 would be fine but as Johnny said expensive. But, not overly expensive. That said, a .223 with a good twist is ideal for your purpose IMHO.

Oh god yeah. Look at the difference in balistics between the 223 and 22-250. 250 wins by a land slide out past 200 yards. Yes it's more expensive but Imo I'd take the expense for further better shooting
