Prentice basically just told us that if he can't run the show, he's taking his ball and going home.
He's a quitter.
Good riddance, but thanks for showing us your true colours on the way out.

Brian Jean will be the Premier in 4 years, regardless of how bad or good the NDP handles things. This guy looks great, and the PC right supporters will migrate to his party.

This election was lost by running a fear based campaign based on negativity, pitched to a population desperate for hope, not negativity.

My new MLA is a NDP student that lives with her grandma. This riding has been PC for many many years.

The problem is that there has never been any real opposition to the PC's since I have been able to vote. The PC'S have ate themselves tonight corrupted in that simple power.

We finally had some real opposition forming then the leader and her buddies cross the floor?
...Shame on you, you should have waited one more election and you would have been crowned the Kahuna tonight. You are officially nobody now.

Brian will be a great leader of opposition up against the dirty socialists. I will continue to support the WR moving forward.

And I base my decisions and actions on my own personal experience with the NDP party and their governance. No speculation or assumptions required.
That has also served me well.

Exactly. Not to mention its that type of knee jerk reaction that'll hit RE. Before any NDP policy has hit the floor. SMRT These reactionaries.

Try google to see what happened to BC during the 90's. You guys just voted in yoga instructors and kids living at home with their parents to run one of the worlds former energy giants !!!!

Neither I nor you know what the future holds PERIOD. I am however willing to make the most of what we have been dealt. It is a chance at change and is somewhat subject to what we as the electorate make it. IF you think it better and more constructive to freak out with speculation and fear mongering then have at 'er. Maybe that is best. Who knows.

Would kinda like to keep mine more than 4'years.... You might be comfortable thinking 1 term.... I prefer LONG TERM...

Despite your desire to separate Provincial from Federal parties, how long do you think it would take a Federal NDP majority from throwing a new registry or restrictions on the table ( the apple doesn't fall far from the tree)...

They have fooled you into supporting them once, which proves you can be fooled again....

I hope that you are right, even though I can't see that Jean fellow as a material for any leader. I wish WR best of luck on collecting necessary experience over the next 4 years and I'm more than happy to see the PC dynasty finally crashing down. Few years too late, but better late than never. I hope that NDP will clean the house off all that entitlement and corruption. Looking forward to all this doom and earthquakes, even though, most likely none of these will ever come our way. Frustration, hate and emotionalism do not belong to politics. Have a good night everybody

As someone who has only ever lived in alberta, and never taken a breath under a non conservative government, what can I truly expect to change?
With bill c42 going to it's third and final reading, our cfo's whims should be curbed,
So I expect my guns to be safe, but real world results, what will I start seeing with my own eyes? Will my pay cheque shrink? Will our province start running a constant deficit but continue to overspend as ontario seems to ?
I voted, but sad to see the results. I was hoping pc win with wild rose opposition, or vice versa, but I really didn't think this would happen

So you are saying he gave up a job that pays about $6 mil a year to be the premier of AB for $200,000 and he's here for the money. You have got to be kidding me.

We live and die and benefit in a democracy regardless of party. Any prospective rules will be dictated by the majority mandate. If the majority decide the want more gun control then it will be. I don't know many gun owners that want to maintain gun rights for violent criminals. That said we are all for gun controls its a matter of determining what level is acceptable on a given day and a given set of conditions. One day things might be down a sh!t hole and we elect to allow rocket launchers. Who knows

If your paycheck shrinks slightly and your wait time in emergency goes down is that good or bad? Much of the change will be dedicated by perspective and personal experiences and needs.

Commodity prices in a commodity driven economy have everything to do with the success of the political party at that time. If global commodity prices are in the tank and jobs and gov't revenues in the tank accordingly there is no gov't that is going to look good. That certainly does matter when weighing a gov'ts success. They are not miracle workers nor do they control global economics. Your comments cut to the heart of some of the misperceptions of gov't failure/success. Total lack of understanding of the bigger picture.

This is your 5th post in the thread, and the 4th with an insult. You were much nicer just yesterday before the election.

Nope. Just not a conservative shill nor a religious zealot. I know that doesn't generally wash in small town AB. C'est la vie.

I was raised PC and I have never voted anything but... until today. I felt the decline when all the backstabbing power hungry wanna be's threw Ralph Klein to the wolves. I think it speaks volumes that our fearless leader who was coined "the savior of the PC party", on the day he was elected to his riding, resigned as leader of the PC party and as a MLA. The PC party became saturated with those who could careless with the core values that the Progressive Conservatives were built on, and only wished a easy route to a position of power. A friend of mine who told me he was voting NDP stated best case scenario, NDP wins a minority government, and for the next four years muck everything up, then the PC party regains control. I think that is pretty realistic. That being said, if some how the NDP party finds a way not to screw everything up for the next four years we could be in some real trouble. I hope most of us that made the tough choice to vote NDP would not vote NDP federally, but if Notley pulls a rabbit out of her hat it could give the federal NDP a real foothold, and that is what I am afraid of.
