The interesting stat that I pull out of this is their talk about creeks or rivers close by with trout populations 6x higher than the ones they are talking of closing. If trout populations are that much higher why is fishing still closed in those creeks? If they are closing these rivers to allow populations to recover so that fishing can be reopened why aren’t their current actions showing that they are looking to reopen things once they’ve recovered? Or are these rivers being closed down for good? I’ve seen few if any cases of fisheries being reopened after they have been closed.

Thanks for sharing don, from what I’ve read this is mainly focused on bulltrout recovery? The q&a seems to read that way. I’m nervous to se what else will be planned moving forward on many other streams.

On Map1 it says Red Deer river I thought they were talking about the upper section only this would mean the whole river below the dam , I hope not as I live less than a minute from there

1 other question and another observation
Where do you find a map of the “proposed”red deer river closure? Im not able to find it
Also interesting that Kevin Van Tighem is against it, outside PETA and Greenpeace types he’s probably about as close to ndp ideology that you’ll find on the environment anyways.

Default Page updates

Folks

The page will be updates as updates are discovered or forwarded to me, I'll include them providing the page doesn't get too cluttered.

regards,

Don

Perhaps it’s my phone then, I just saw information when I clicked on the map links, I had been hoping more for highlights of the portion of he river and their tributaries that were closed
