Go knock on doors. Show up, be professional and be serious. Show them you are willing to earn the position.
And use the search function on here, lots of good info already posted.

Lots of opportunity if you have a solid work ethic.
But be aware it is not a walk in the park .hell for a basement is more then accurate for most for a long time while clawing up the ladder.
15-18hrs a day for 6 weeks straight is not uncommon for a lot of oilfield positions.
Working 40hr weeks you will starve here.
Excuse me if you are well aware but many people get a rough wake up call and hightail it home after a few weeks.
Best of luck.

You won't starve on 40 hours a week. I usually work less than that a week.

Alberta isnt too bad.... just stand about 3" from a mirror and check to see if it gets foggy. If you see fog forming near where you should see your mouth in the mirror you are good to go haha.

I've had my Fourth (and half my Third) since '05. Been well worth it for me. Home every night and lead a solid crew of 8 operators with a big local producer.
Work hard, stay sharp, ask lots of questions, be honest, don't slack, and do all that is required, plus a little more. You'll enjoy a solid career with good pay and advancement potential.

It's gotta be a camp job, or he's missing some overtime, or something I'm guessing.
