Default Crown land for sale in Sask.

In case this hasn't been mentioned yet on this forum, here is what Saskatchewan is doing with their Crown land.

Sound familiar?

Not good, chunk of pasture I used to hunt is now sold and only lets a guide in, even to cross to the forest reserve, anyone say kickback? Really ****ed them all off when I came in from a back trail of forest reserve and hunted the whole edge.
This won't be be good for most.

This crown land being sold is leased land. Leased land in Sask is treated differently than Alberta. The lease holder has the right to control public entry onto the land. If they want nobody on it then nobody gets on it. This will in no way have any effect on hunters or other people who wish to use the land for recreation. It was basically controlled like private land in the first place. The majority of these lease holders are good people and have looked after this land for many years already and will allow access if you ask.

Then why do they have to own it except to bequeath wealth upon themselves

Sweet deal! Get to buy publicly-owned assets without bidding or competition. Gotta take care of the farmer.
