A very interesting and sometimes funny thread, I like fly tying, though I don't get much time for it any more. I like collecting hatches, chisels and knives.

While I don't personally have any different hobbies, my father had several including the following on the farm.
- Racing pigeons.
- Exotic fowl.
- Bees.
- He was very active breeding tropical fish supplying several local stores with several species of fresh water fish.
- Gardening.
- Amateur geologist.
- Private pilot. (owned a SuperCub with floats and skis)
- Father of 4 boys.

Hobby and addicted to it
I collect and restore older pre 64 Winchester’s
I collect comics - investment type stuff,,, always on the hunt at garage sales, estate sales, back issues. Some western comics like Red Ryder , Zane Grey , Royal Mounted. If you have any original 10 or 15 or 20 cents comics, let me know because it’s not only my hobby but my addiction

Good thread, was interesting looking back on what has changed.
Got back into CNC and CAD, but now mainly on 3d printers. I have spent a few years designing things now, made some money at it too.
Still learning the industrial sewing machine, great for upholstery, boat stuff, repairing coats, jeans, coveralls, etc.
Sold all the metal machinery, bought another mig because I just could not live without one.
Got into drones a few years ago, but with ever tightening regulations they mostly sit now. I let my SFOC and insurance lapse, will likely sell a few of the higher end ones this spring.
Saltwater fishing is my #1 hobby now, if I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing or researching new gear, or making the boat better for my use.
Still into archery, but not as much.

Forgot about the airguns. I have to find a pump for the pcp, but magpies are an endangered species around here now.

I don't have any weird or strange hobbies...I make wine, I collect Colt and S&W revolvers, hunt, fish, shoot (sporting clays, skeet, rifle pistol archery) ... collect fine whisky (of course I enjoy drinking it too)....
But strange? Not really.

While it may not be mainstream, I don't know if it would count as a strange hobby these days.

I collect medieval documents
Some original King James version bible pieces from 1611 and 1620 are my favourites. Babylonian coins with Christs image on them, stuff like that
Not all religious stuff, but it is plentiful and interesting
And I do have a first edition “Outdoor Pastimes of the American Hunter” by Teddy Roosevelt

Analogue photography (film and darkroom).
But I've also taken quite a few creative writing classes.
Funny...quite a few of my outdoor friends laugh at creative writing...and if I mention firearms in the writing courses there are usually a few raised eyebrows.

I would absolutely love to see some of the Medieval documents! I collect coins myself, but mostly Canadian coins (fairly large silver dollar collection).

My company built a 400' x 250' pond years ago at Dow Chemical in the Fort. We had to line it with 3' of high plastic clay. Used an on site borrow pit. The clay was under about 6' of overburden. Highest quality stuff I've run into but haven't gone looking again for any other purpose.

My hobbies are many but mostly I tend to collect dust.
One hobby I realize is odd is I like to read manscripts or journals of long dead people that lived and walked on these lands. Some people call it history.

The clay under the dirt SW of Edmonton is good clay suitable for pottery, sculpture, ovens or at least clay pigeons. Medalta pottery made a lot of pottery, jugs, and crocks from Alberta clay for many years.

Interesting when you see things you posted a long time ago.
It's been a little over three years since I quit drinking.
I was drinking too much and it was also interfering with my medications and general health.
I'm in much better shape now but still miss having a cold beer on a hot day or a bottle of vodka after work! lol
