Default Vehicle access at Joussard Lesser Slave Lake

Does anyone have any info on vehicle access at Joussard on Lesser Slave Lake? Can you drive a truck out to the ice shacks? I am heading up this weekend.

Heard a rumour a flock of trucks went through the ice yesterday. They were chasing a black dually dodge

Not sure what was going on there. Good luck INXS!

i was there last weekend as well.... the road was brutal on saturday, but by mid-day on sunday it was decent, only to have the wind come up on monday and wipe out the road again!

i have a 4x4 with a fair amount of ground clearance and it was a huge pain in the arse. luckily the fishing was good!!!

Any updates on Slave? Looking for snow/driving conditions, mainly west end and Shaw's Point area?

I'm happy to hear that the fishing has been good. We're headed up there on the 28th of Feb. Any further posts on road conditions on the lake, and how the walleye are biting would be appreciated!

What are guys using for line? 6lb mono? I have braid on my main ice rod for pike, but grabbed a second rod for walleye and was going to put mono on it. Advice would be appreciated!

I usualy use a ML rod spooled with 6lb mono and a MH spooled with 10 lb mono, this time of year on Slave with the fish fairly deep I'll just use 2 ML rods with 6lb line. I usualy have better luck mid-winter with more subtle presentations and hooking a pike is fairly rare so the MH is not neccessary right now IMO.

Hey....any fishing reports from joussard this weekend? Will be up there Thursday.

How is the road to the shacks? We have 2 trucks and both have good clearance and aggressive tires.

Thanks for the reports!
