Default A good online source for auto parts?

Need to replace a bunch of parts on the civic this spring like struts, pads, rotors, a caliper and so on.

Is rock auto still one of the best? I have never used them but refuse to pay what Napa and CT want in town.

Any help is appreciated

Rock Auto is about as good as it gets for online parts, as long as you're not looking for performance upgrades. Huge selection, fast shipping, and good prices. You can get dinged hard on shipping if you order a bunch of parts from different suppliers though.
I order a lot of parts from Rock Auto, but still shop local if the price is anywhere close to the same. The way I look at it is if you dont support the local guys, someday you'll be in a bind and kicking yourself when the part you need is something the local shop used to carry, (but is now out of business trying to compete with online), and you're now waiting a week for delivery. The same goes for supporting other local businesses.

Rock Auto x 3. I like how they send you emails on close out deals on parts that fit the vehicle(s) that you’ve previously ordered parts for. And the price you pay is all you pay, no backend duties or taxes. Of course I always choose the cheapest US Postal Service shipping option.

Even if it says that they don't have it in stock on their website, they can almost get it for you the same day.
I use them often and they've never not been able to get me what I needed.
I tried every place in Edmonton to get an alternator for a 1990 Miata and they were the only ones that could get it for me. Wasn't on their site but they clled me back an hour later and said they had. About the same price as RA.

These guys generally get everything I need and on par with Rock Auto considering exchange and shipping.

The trick is knowing someone with a business account. I had to buy a fuel pump last summer and it would have cost me double what I paid without having it on a business account.

The problem with Rock Auto is if you order a bunch of parts and they don't have them in stock then they come from various places in the US direct to you. Each part sent to you this way costs 3 arms and two legs by couriers. I usually end up buying locally because of this.

I’ve had good experience with this place. They ship out of Ontario and shipping is free. They’ve shipped via Canada post every time I have ordered from them.

Check Amazon. Last summer need a front fender for a 2007 Golf (to replace one that was rusted). $90...cheapest I could find in town was $125. Have Amazon Prime...it showed up three days after ordering, no shipping charge.

A mechanical friend of mine suggested Rock auto supplies out of Ontario, supposed to be very efficient.

Amazon is always the first place to go....It is amazing what they carry. Found 2 parts for my dishwasher at least $30 - $50 cheaper than anything local and on other parts websites.

There's autopartsway in Canada, and autohausaz in the us. I like autohausaz a lot. Even better if you have a montana shipping address and go down and pick it up yourself.

I'd recommend FCP Euro, as all their parts have a lifetime guarantee, but only euro cars.

Could also try parts.com.Generally those parts come from the dealer distributor network, and as such are actual branded parts for the car.

Thanks for the 5% code, Petew. I ordered some stuff from Rock Auto on Thursday. I made an error on the order and within a couple minutes had it canceled, or so I thought. They double dipped my PayPal account even though they confirmed the cancellation by email after I contacted them right away. I got an email from them and PayPal yesterday evening that the amount was refunded but according to PayPal it is pending and will be complete by March 8. WTH?? You cannot even call these guys on the phone!

But they are a lot cheaper, even more so than Amazon, for what I needed. And the local guys were about four times the price. So I guess I will await my refund...

Agree, shipping costs often negate the good deal.

If anyone owns VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, germanautoparts.ca
Or concept1.ca is a great deal, way cheaper than the "stealerships"
and often oem direct replacement parts, and have free shipping ( concept1 )
and deals quite often.

Germanparts.ca is a good place to deal with, but their selection is limited. FCPEuro has more parts than most dealers.

I do Concept-1's plumbing service (they know me from my being their customer before they became mine).
