Default Bow ice conditions

What does the ice look like in the city. Is there anywhere that you can fish from shore yet. Wouldn't risk wading with this weather but if there is anywhere without ice shelves along the bank Saturday is looking tempting but don't wanna spend all day driving along the river if it's still full of ice

The Bow almost never freezes over in certain city sections. The Glenmore stretch remains ice free over the full winter for as long as I can remember. Wading in this stretch is just fine provided you watch out for floating ice shelves as the weather warms up.

Anyone have an update on the condition of the Bow, Ice or otherwise (water calrity)...Maybe specifically an update on the ice around the launches. Would love to get the pontoon out when I get back home on Wednesday.

Thinking I am going to be wetting a line one way or another, throwing in a float with my new to me 2 man pontoon would be something to really look foward to though. A nice float from Glenmore to Policemen's as long as there is no ice there.

Left the fly gear at home today, landed a big ol' sucker on a CD9 brown trout rapala, buddy netted a nice rainbow on a 5 of diamonds, lots of midges out today but nothing rising to them, waters high and dirty but fishable, nice to get out for a couple hours, was down near fish creek.
