Default Does this mean the resurrection of the gun registry

Goodale announces over 300 million for gun and gang violence. I sure hope this doesn't mean the resurrection of the damnable registry.

So far, no mention of resurrecting the gun registry ... http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases...658283403.html

We'll have to keep an eye on this, and see where it goes.

Ya same here Kurt...I took up fly fishing, picture taking, hiking up big scary mountains, mini golf, shovelling huge long driveways with a small plastic spoon, I just find I have sooo much more time now that all my guns are gone to new people that i met talking with the animals in the zoo.

Yep. We will then be(according to "anti-gun gooddale and friends") so much more safer and pro-unicorn and closer to the pro-utopian socialism that is craved by the majority in kanata today !!:fighting 0074:

$300 million wouldn't even start, remember the last registry cost $4 billion, add inflation, more bureaurocracy and waste of today and I doubt they could get it done for $8 billion. That doesn't mean they wouldn't try.

I feel so much safer with Uncle Ralph looking after our safety. It's what we needed, more paperwork and restrictions on the law abiding.

Jesus wept....

Default We can figure out the answer

Will it help whom ever recommends it to get elected? If no then it won't happen, if yes a party will try it.

I stress here it doesn't matter if anyone thinks that it will work only if it helps them get elected.

With elections getting closer, we are seeing more and more of these "Feathers in the wind" from all the parties.

This is the opportunity for groups like ours to maybe get something that we want.

How about new rules on crown land leases?

300M wouldn't be enough to pay for the coffee and doughnuts to plan a registry and compliance would be very low as indicated by all the guys that sold their guns to Mike in Canmore.
I would predict the Lib's will go after those nasty semi's that use mind control to influence its owners to go on shooting rampages. Whatever uncle Ralph is going to do one thing for sure he will be going after the "low hanging fruit" legal gun owners, he knows he can't stop criminals.

Yup I’m sure it is us that will take the blunt of any changes made. If they put most of that money towards border security and X-ray technology it would not hurt my feelings any. The thing I’m afraid of most is if they make me go to a gun range to shoot at paper. Its not like you can bring in last years busted up lawn mower in for target practice. This is what I do and enjoy Before I get bashed, these are things I do on privately owned land and clean my mess up afterwards. Any hoo, I do have my restricted but only to show my support of those who own restricted firearms. And I will renew my restricted next time it’s up too. I’ll sell my guns before I would go to a range unfortunately. Boo!

He stated a couple of weeks ago that they would not resurrect a long gun registration. However, they would re-establish an enhanced ATT system for restricted plus other tweeks.

I heard criminals are concerned about safely transporting their restricted firearms so this totally makes sense. It will make the world a safer place.

It's just the liberal way of buying votes with money they they don't have. Pretty sure turdo is slipping in the polls.

Honestly, I don't see how this will buy votes.

Didn't the Libs say the original registry was only going to be a few million??? By saying $300mm, they are setting up to spend more than the original...just a hunch, but Justin's math seems about right.

This is a funding reaction to the increase in gun violence involving firearms. Every major city in Canada has seen an increase in gun violence between gang bangers in the last decade. The danger to the public is actually real because they are spraying stray rounds into the public (apparently, sight alignment, trigger control and back stop are not taught well at Joe's School of Poppin Rounds from Ma Heater).

Hopefully this is earmarked money to find policing initiatives that are already in place and work. Unfortunately once criminals organize even slightly, the effort and type of work required to accomplish the goals is very expensive.

Or maybe we could use that 300M to start keeping criminals in jail. That's an idea.

We'll see if the Libs try shenanigans with this.

And liberals always tell the truth right? If a libs lips are moving we better look out. Obviously money is like water to them. Worst part is most Canadians are oblivious.

Personally, I don't think the Libs will want to open that financial boondoggle again. However, I expect a lot more restrictions elsewhere. The only ones that will be affected by all the rules and restrictions will be the good guys. Gang Bangers don't have rules or restrictions and, never will.
