Default Any info on this old compound?

Hoyt/easton stag. Ive got this old compound my dad bought back in the day. I wanted to get it back into shape. My brother shot a 170's mulie with it yrs ago, and I would like to see how well I can get it shooting.. I am thinking this bow is from 90-92? Its in quite good condition, still fires the old alum arrows decent. Hurts the fingers, pulling it feels like 60# min. Can anyone tell me more about this bow?

That old compound started life as a recurve back in the 70's as a TD3 . They used these risers for many years on many models of compounds in the early compound days. The riser is a great candidate to convert back to a recurve with todays modern Olympic ILF limbs. It is called WARFING when we do this. The conversion is a simple chore. It will make a better recurve now than it will a compound.

Not sure about that bow specifically but I have an old fred bear bow from 1990 that I shot up until a few years ago and it looks similar to the bow in your pic. I'm guessing your bow is from the timeframe that you noted. I have a couple string releases that I used for my bow that worked well and they save your fingers. Let me know if you want to go that route as they are just sitting around with my unused archery gear.

it does...it proceeds the Rambo bow...and was designed off Stag...mid 80's

Bows like that can still be shot as well as in the day....HOWever

unless you know what your looking for ...I would sugest taking in in for an inspection...limbs for hairline cracks...string for wear...
when one of those let go it can hurt...the older cable systems and quick change tear drop string harness system could whip the crap out of you....got scars to prove it!!!

It's an old Hoyt, my friend hunts with the same bow!

I believe it to be an early 80's model. I remember when he bought it used in 1986.
