Its just like the previous models except this makes a noise and has 2 way communication ....too bad it relies on a network of others for tracking.

Never owned one...yup too bad!!!
says it has GPS...but not sure how that works if one needs others to pinpoint

The tag itself has no GPS. When somebody with the tracker app on their phone comes close to it it will post a signal to you of where their phone was. You can then go there and used your phone like a crappy version of an avalanche becon to locate your device.
