Default RCBS X-dies

First & foremost, I am a relatively new member & apologize if this thread has been discussed in the past.

From what I understand (and have seen on video) the X-die is supposed to eliminate the need to trim brass after firings. After an initial trim to standardize case lengths, the X-Die allows repeated full-length resizing without the case length exceeding the maximum length. Routine trimming after each sizing is eliminated using a precision mandrel to limit growth of the case without shortening it or causing metal build-up in the neck.

Have any forum members had any experience with X-dies ? Do they work ?

Thx.

Thumbs up

i have them set up in my dillon for loading the duce. i shoot between 8 - 15 hundred rounds of 222 in a year, between 4 guns.
they do not 'eliminate' trimming, but i only trim once between new and throw away, any where from 9 to 15 loadings on a case.
i recomend them for high volume loading, lee.
