Default Wanting a Factory back up camera to stay on when driving forward ??

Was thinking of buying a rear view Camera system so I can see my boat behind my camper.
Some one told me to use the factory back up system by just getting into the reverse switch.....Anyone know if this is even possible , maybe a toggle switch ?

I know there’s a way to do it but as to the how I can’t help you. I had some work done at Venom on the west end and they’ve done something to that degree. If I was still pulling trailer regularly I’d do something like that for sure but I think it would be best having the camera up by the third brake light vs on the tail gate. Having both would be optimum if your running a bumper pull such as your boat. There are switches out there that utilize a factory switch to tie in something else and it’s just a time delay for depression of button that dictates which item it activates. If you wanted to go that way. Super clean as it still looks stock.

Yep, it's out there. What truck do you drive? Search for something like "[vehicle] backup camera always on mod"

My wife got me a Kenwood Excelon from Mad Man Mackay. It does that and everything else a navigation system does.

I imagine it would be similar to installing a bypass on a head unit so it will give ask functions while in motion. If I remember correctly you just had to cut the wire that sensed if the vehicle was in park and either grind it or give it 12v but it was a long time ago.

I've never used this company, just the first to pop up, Most electronic/stereo stores either stock them or can help you out.

I have mine on a toggle but it's an aftermarket. I would imagine it could also be done with a factory setup
