Good luck with that. Think you better go out and get a frozen one right now so it can thaw. Might check one of the huderite conlonies. But I don't think you will find any.

If you line up early, you should be able to secure a fresh, organic turkey at the Scona Farmer's Market.

Check with Dirt Willy (R.I.P.) and see what they have available.

780-983-4112

They are located across the road from Elk Island Park/Blackfoot Grazing Reserve.

They're having a close-out sale as they are getting out of the game bird business since the owner's passing.

That was a lot of help. There are folks with turkeys and you just have to find them. If you wanna drive 3 hours I'll sell you one.

I think Sunterra market in the Lendrum mall sells fresh turkeys. Might be worth a call or a visit. That store is really busy this time of year.

Nothing like waiting till the last minute. Wall mart had a heck of a deal on frozen, nothing a little defrosting wouldn't fix.

Butchered ours an hour ago so as to have the best possible food for the day. SOB weighed 26lbs dressed. I figure I'll be eating turkey soup, sandwich's, stir fry and whatever else for a week.

Sounds like he's on steroids. Do you use any antibiotics? I've been lucky in the past raising turkeys, but I know sometimes the birds seem susceptible to diseases moreso than chickens.

Coop in Airdrie ( I'd expect other Coops )
were selling fresh turkeys, but the price was fairly ridiculous at $110.

You get what you pay for and can certainty test the difference. You have organic, free range and your $9.00 turkey at walmart pumped full of what?
I paid $75.00 for a free range never frozen 16 lb. and did the upright beer can method today and was the best people ever had they said. Just depends if you want steak or hamburger helper.
