Default None of them, yet !!!!!

Mazda is unveiling a revolutionary gas engine that creates power the same way as a Diesel. It gets 20 - 40 % better fuel economy, but still has spark plugs for cold start and slow idle.

Wait if you can, or get something cheap and throw away. If this engine is what everyone says it is, you will want the power and fuel economy. Mazda is not licensing this design to anyone, by the way.

Shame about the licensing, the only truck Mazda ever build was a ford ranger. . .

After owning Ford, GM, and Toyota, the most reliable by far has been my 2007 Tundra. The new Tundra is due out for 2019, if you can wait a year.

Love my chevy. But I’d love a new ford, dodge or Toyota too.

This year I bought my first ford F150 quad cab with the ecoboost and I have to say I really like it. I always had GM and at work I drive a new GM I just wanted something different. To me they all break down and all cost money.

Stay away from ram, Toyota has the best resale value, but also has the utilitarian feel that toyota is known for (In other words, blahh). Gm and ford seem to be having incentive wars.. Go drive them and see which one you like the best and can get the best deal on.

It's all luck of the draw, toyota/ram/ford/GM all have issues ,so take your pick.

Toyota for Reliability, GMC for comfort and Ford is overall pretty solid a good mix of both.

I'd say things like performance, reliability are pretty close between these brands and you can't really go wrong with any of these choices.

Ford. I like the features and styling of the Sport. Had a F250 with no mechanical issues till around 260,00 km and we run three F150's at work, a '12, ,13, and '15, all have over 100k on them and no issues, besides a broken speaker, yet.

Reliability and longevity are huge factors with me.
Which companies have been running the same engine and tranny for the longest time? Start there.

When it comes to buying pretty much anything ........

Have an an '04 F150 and '12 F150. Always very reliable, never left me stranded anywhere and I haven't been the nicest owner to them.

And that ecoboost motor, although it doesn't get the fuel savings they were hoping, tows like a diesel and I think is the fastest stock gas motor out there....

I don't choose a truck based on looks, I choose reliability and features such as power, mileage etc. If I had to purchase a truck today, I would likely go Ford with the ecoboost and 10 speed, because even though I have had bad luck with Ford reliability in the past, it was a long time ago, and I believe that they offer the best engine/transmission. However, if Toyota offers a new engine that offers comparable fuel mileage in 2019, I will seriously consider another Tundra based n the reliability of my current Tundra and our other Toyota vehicles. I also like the configuration of the Tundra Double Cab, as it offers an adequate rear seat for my uses, with a real forward opening door, and still offers a full 6-1/2 foot cargo box, with a wheelbase and overall length comparable to the Ford Supercab.

I test drove The Chev/GM, Ram, and Ford. There were a few things I liked about all of them. I didn’t test the Toyota as I knew I’d want one but the mileage just isn’t there. In May I ended up with a pretty basic, not many options 2017 GM. When I say basic it doesn’t have leather, no built in WiFi, no wireless phone charging, no heated seats or memory recall seating, and that kind of stuff but it’s a very capable and comfortable truck. Multiple trips to Edmonton from Calgary, Vancouver and out to the Gulf Islands in BC, hailed a trailer to Pincher Creek early this summer. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Default Truck

I have a 2014 Nissan Frontier crew cab, with 4 L engine, and 4x4, I have had it for just about 3 years. It has been an excellent vehicle so far, about 24mpg on the highway. The interior is a bit plain compared to some other vehicles, but , no issues so far. If there were one complaint,It would be that the steering radius, is quite large for a small truck.

I just picked up a pretty sweet 2003 F150 5.4 for a few grand. King Ranch trim and all! Last year of the 2-valve engine - free of the oil pressure issue which manifested itself as camshaft phaser troubles on the 2004-2010 3-valve version. I looked long and hard for the cleanest, lowest mileage local specimen I could find. It should last me another 10 years or so ...

If you're buying new get a 5.0 Ford and be done with it. Not saying that they never break (that's the 6.2 gas engine), but they're pretty darn reliable. : )

Just wrote off my 2011 long horn, loved that truck, and hated certain things about it too, had the ram box, loved all the storage it had, could have lots stuff squirelled away, guns, fly rods, ect. The dodge just seemed a little on the cheap side, the paint on the front bumper chipping off. Drive f150s all the time as rentals, v8s and the ecoboost, just find something awkward about the f150, cant put a finger on it.Had a 2002 and 2004 chev extended cabs, loved those trucks especially the 2004 it had factory 410s, never got it stuck! I know the tundras are great (aside from fuel economy) but it comes at a cost ($) , just don't know, the whole mazda thing has peaked my interest, just don't know, anyway thanks for all the input, the rusty old cogs are turning...............

You had to know when you asked this question that you wouldn't get an answer, just opinions. Usually in favour of whatever the responder drives at the time.

Once you find out what the best truck is, you should ask what the best color is.

Be different, get a Unimog. That's what I suggest.
