Default Upper and Lower K

A wise man, or not so wise of a man, once said that when the ice clears from Glenmore resevoir the upper and lower kananaskis lakes also start freeing of ice. Is this true or folklure? LOL

Yes I do. Message incoming.

Anyone been out to the Upper and Lower K's lately? How's the ice? How's the water level?

I took a drive out there the weekend before last and the upper lake was completely covered with ice. The lower lake had plenty of open water around the hydro station.

Almost all of Upper K is still covered in snow and ice as of Sunday. It may be opening up around the edges though. The interlakes is open on the upper k (the channel area if you know what im referring to) on the lower lake it's pretty open near the hydro station.

Well not right after the ice comes off. The level of the lake likely needs to rise a bit first. I was there less than a week ago and the bottom of the ramp wasn't even submerged. So unless you're launching a canoe or pontoon or something then I'd say no.....maybe give it another week or two? not sure. Ill let you know next time I take a trip up there.
