Default LOTW Trip Report

So based on some fantastically detailed info from an AO member (fishmonger) we decided to head to Ontario for this year's fishing trip.

The trip included my parents, my wife, my son and his best friend and myself. I brought my boat and we were set.

We booked a week at a beautiful cabin on Rush Bay on the NW end of LOTW. Fantastic spot w/excellent fishing.

My dad is in his late 70's and the boys are 13 & 12 so the actual fishing time was limited to 4-5hrs max per day (morning and evening combined). However the legendary lake did not disappoint!

We managed over 250 fish in the boat over the course of the 5 days. Species included

Perch
Walleye
Pike
Smallmouth Bass
Sunfish
Crappie

We didn't venture out onto the main lake but the info on Rush Bay provided by fishmonger had us on fish for the entire trip! No monsters but everyone had a blast!

The boat performed flawlessly from fishing to comfort cruising and even pulling the boys on the tube. Couldn't be happier w/purchase of the Princecraft.

A HUGE Thank You to fishmonger for all your kind assistance in making this a very enjoyable trip for all!

Here are a few pics...

Cheers,

Scott.

Even dock fishing was good, had about 100 off the dock over the week. Bass, Perch and a ton of these guys...

Looks like a fun vacation with the family with great accommodations, that area of Lake of the Woods has a wide variety of fish species and looks like you got most of them. The boys will never forget this summer adventure.

Great pic's Bwabbit .... tks for sharing.

Everything but a Musky in that batch...fantastic! I'm born and raises just a little bit west of Kenora, just on the MB side of the border....so that's all "home water" to me. Love all the multi-species action you get in those Canadian Shield waters. I'm heading home over August Long and the first week of August, so we'll be getting into a little bit of everything from Lake Winnipeg to Winnipeg River, and (never say never) might even get out to LOTW since we're that far east anyhow...

It's always good to have a nice casual fishing trip. Sounds like the action was so hot you didn't need to spend all your time fishing and could enjoy some other things. Would love to fish in Ontario one day so many species to catch!
