Unhappy Grand Cache Region

Hello!

Please be patient and provide any help or tips you may have. Husband and I are on a 2 month road trip and currently in Grande Cache area. I have tried to catch fish in both stocked trout ponds, and various lakes but havent had much (or any) success. I have only ever caught a fish in a stocked pond on vancouver island before. I am using power bait in the salmon egg shapes (bright orange), fake earthworms from gulp etc. I mostly fish from shore or my paddle board and with a bobber. Any tips on how to actually catch a trout lol?? I am only interested in catching trout, perch or whitefish and none of those creepy alien ones (Bourbot) or the ones with teeth

If I don't catch a fish on a 2 month road trip I will be forever sad.

I just came back from victor lake. Caught a small on off shore in the north west part of the lake just as you come in, to the left. That area is really shallow. We got into the pontoons and went for the deeper waters and limited out. Jigs and power bait. Happy fischin

Try the smoky river or sheep creek. Some good bull trout in em, no bait at all though. Just use a white jig in the deep slow moving pools.

2x what Bluff said.....Started many, many yrs ago with a classic yellow/red panther martin(made in France then) and have bought assorted colors of them- they will catch many fish for you. Good luck.
