I wouldn't get a jon boat for the lake. I'd put my money into a v bottom 12 footer. Alberta is windy.

12ft Lund is a great boat and is heavy enough to deal with quite a bit of wind. Guys I fish with put 15Hp motors on them

I had a 10 foot jon boat with an electric motor set up. it was okay for very small lakes, I put a complete floor in mine with pedestal seats thinking it was going to be all I needed, but the guys here have a valid point. the wind and it doesn't take a lot just blew me around and made some days just miserable. Battery power becomes an issue constantly staying off shore. I did go to a 14 foot partial V bottom Jon boat. Can run gas or electric and I am much happier with the extra room. 10 foot boats gear and two adults can get congested at the best of times. just my thoughts.

I appreciate the input guys I really do

Due to my small back yard and full garage I decided I might go with something like an 8 foot spratley boat might have to wait until next time I'm in bc...

I want something smaller as most my fishing is with me and my dog!

And I would like to be able to fit the boat in the bed of my pick up

Anyone know anywhere in Edmonton to get a spratley (im assuming BC only)
