Default 300 wsm

My buddy bought a Remington 700 Boone and Crocket in 300 WSM and he wants me to reload some bullets. I bought some CCI primers and some 180 BTSP Hornady bullets and some 4831IMR powder. In the book it says max load is 67.2 Grains and what I read on other forums people say they get better results at closer to max load. Just wondering what you a use..

I start about 10% below maximum and work up from there. What is a good load in someone else's rifle is not relevent. You must work up your own loads checking for pressure signs and accuracy results as you go.

Very TRUE
Variations in brass can cause nasty as in kaboom type pressure spikes. Always start low and work up.
Another hint, alot of 300WSM brass is nickle plated, it can be reloaded, but you always stand a reasonable chance of the nickle plating seperating from the brass casing, typically inside the chamber and it is a royal bitch to get out.
My advice use only brass cases, not nickle plated.

You may also want to try some 4350 imr-I've had good results with this in my tikka.
