Who does glass bedding in Calgary?
Having lost patience trying to center the barrel in my Bell and Carlson Duramaxx stock, I've come to realize that it needs to be bedded over the pillars. Since I've never done this before and I don't think I'll have interest in doing it again any time soon, is there someone I can just pay to do this for me? Don't want to sound lazy but I don't have other pieces to practice on so I can learn to do a nice job of it.

I haven't had any smith work done by Rick and i'm not disputing that fact, it's the import/export end of things. Myself and others have had custom rifles brought up in the past and it takes months before we get them along with "last minute" price changes.

Henry Remple is in calgary and he can do the job for you.
Contact Hornhead , he has his number.
I don't do biz with MR. Remple for the simple fact that I send my stuff elswhere.
I do know his reputation however, and it is top notch work is what I am told.

Ever think about doing it yourself. A little scary the first time but it is doable and cheap. Just follow the directions on the box and you are good to go. I've done 3 rifles now with good results.

Put it this way I delivered to Rick Dec 14th told him I would like the rifle back by March 1. The call to pick up came Jan 6th I have not yet shot the rifle but was told my satisfaction was the only thing that mattered.

Yes, i'm not disagreeing with his talent and turnaround on smithing. It's the import/export everyone is cranked about. These are custom rifles built and smithed state side then delivered to the border where then Rick drives down to pick them up and bring them across the line. Every week you call and are told that their going for pickup this week. Months later?

Rick
I too have had great service from Rick. I had a few pieces of work done and he was timely and the price for me was as stated. I do seem to need an extra half hour when I go there because he likes to shoot the breeze. That is just fine though as I have learned quite a bit from him about reloading.

Rick is a very good smith. He may not be the cheapest around, but he does good work and will stand by it. I actually just bought a rifle from him yesterday.

Unfortunately I have NO control over how timely the State Dept issues export permits, and am 100% at the mercy of the US exporter. There is no sense my driving down to the border when the exporter cancels the meeting repeatedly.
I pass on the info I get from them.
There is a reason there are so very few of us doing any import work anymore. I am seriously considering not doing anymore importation and have totally quit any exporting, I am very busy building rifles and quite frankly am getting tired of the rubber glove treatment at the border.
