This is prob. something you should have discussed earlier with him. It's not abig deal but it depends on what you have for equipment or if you are using his.. Also who is going to prepare your furs, yourself or him.?. Of course you need the hands on, being as how you didn't get any practical when you challenged the exam, but you will get a better price at auction. Ordinarily, if you have all the traps and are doing your own furs, then I would think the fur money is yours. That was how it was with me when I jr'd with an older gent back when, but then he was just that kinda guy. RIP Alvin...
Talk it over and don't leave any questions unanswered, that's what makes a partnership work..... Good luck Mark....to the both of you..

Thanks Doug,

we will be having the chat this week, he hasn't trapped it for a few yrs and has been looking for a reliable jr partner. I am not overly concerned with moey this year, more looking for the experience to get better and learn the whole trade, or as much as he will teach me.

I will be using my own traps and snares, he told me that there is alot of lynx, fox, muskrats, coyote, fisher, marten and wolves, he also sadi that he has seen lots of wolverine tracks, but has never trapped one.

I plan on setting my cubbies and leaning pole sets on friday and some wolf snares around an old moose kill..

See how it goes. Anyone know where I can get a beaver carcass or 2 around ft mac?

This is always hard when taking on a partner. My junior hasn't trapped before, so I took him on with the notion that he would not have to have a big cash outlay until he sees if it is his cup of tea first. He uses my boxes, traps and even my back-up sled for now. We trap the same line, which works good because I can point out some things he might want to try differently, and when I am tied up on something, he can look at the line himself or vice-versa. It frees me up on my days off. We just split income and expenses down the middle. There's a lot of different options to this, but for me this is the easiest.
