Exclamation New deer hunter

Hey all this will be my wife's first deer hunt. I was Planning to go out near Edson but I have never hunted out that way before is there any lease roads or logging roads out there? Is there any places I should check out? Thanks,

Anywhere north of the city is good - lots of cutlines and access.

Pick up the Central Alberta Backroad Mapbook.... available almost anywhere they sell maps. If you don't you can get lost between Edson and the Athabasca quite quickly.

This was the area i learned to hunt and is AWESOME if you know where to go. You stay to the roads and on the weekend.... good luck.

Just drive until you see a nice cutline and go for a walk. I'm sure if you get off the road you will see some game.

North of the town you can hunt no problem. Go north on 748, 15-25 km, it is littered with cut lines that you can just walk or sit and wait. Drive down one of the gas roads to get off the beaten trail

Go on google earth and you'll see what I mean.

If you are really worried go to the provincial office and get a land owners map but I have never had a problem hunting there.

Make sure you wear some bright orange if you are going to be walking cutlines off of a road....
